We live in a weird world now. Why? Because waiting is literally a thing of the past. I don’t mean to get too deep with this but if you think about it, a whole lot has changed in just a few short years. I certainly remember when I was younger having a penpal, being my cousin, and it was at least a week at a time before I’d receive a reply to the letter I’d written to her. Gone are those days let me tell you. If I don’t get a WhatsApp reply from her in approximately 3 seconds, I go on a blue tick rampage and spit my dummy out. It’s crazy isn’t it?
We are officially the instant generation.
Things move on and that’s where we are right now. Let’s look at a few typical things that we can get pretty much immediately in 2017. If you want something to eat, do you go out to the shops, buy the ingredients, come home and cook the meal? Nope, you order on JustEat. If you want to listen to a song, do you have to wait until the shops open and buy a CD from HMV and bring it home to hear it? Nope, you go to YouTube and press play. If you’d like to watch a film, do you wait for a friend to be available and book cinema tickets and go to the local theatre? Nope, you go to Netflix or for the pirates amongst us, you go to Kodi. You get the drift right? Oh and it’s the same with dating too. If you want to go on a date in 2017, you don’t have to buy a new outfit, wait until Friday night and go out on the town expecting to potentially meetsomeone. Nope, you use Now app.
Smarter Dating: Connecting real people and places for great dates in the moment.
In short, it’s the instant dating app for the instant generation – that’s us. Life’s pretty hectic for all of us, whether that be due to work, family, hobbies, anything, there never seems to be enough hours in the day so when you’re single, any little free time you do seem to have you try to use to date but sometimes, it’s easier said than done. You might spend a couple of weeks of back and forths on WhatsApp with a potential partner then BAM! Ghosted. You might not even have the time you thought you had to make these pleasant exchanges, so what do you do? Stay single forever? Nope, not NOW… see what I did there.
The concept is to meet someone now. If you find yourself with a spare few hours on a Saturday with nothing to do, you can match with people in the area and suggest a date idea to enjoy with someone who’s also got a bit of spare time too. Cinema at 3? Fancy a few drinks at 4? That sorta thing. Personally, I think it’s a great idea and to put it bluntly, it cuts out the bullshit. You don’t have to worry about being ghosted or breadcrumbed or god knows what else after investing time and emotions in a potential catfish. It’s quick, it’s simple and it allows you to spend more time on the thing that matters most – getting to know someone in person.
In fact, it was even named 1 of the best dating apps in 2017, with famous Dating Blogger Paul Thomas Bell, saying:
“I absolutely love this idea and it’s one that I hope really takes off. It’s all about dating ‘now’. No more pen pals, if you’ve got a few hours to kill let users know where and when you’re free and just make it happen.”
Dating in 2017? It’s NOW or never.
